Christmas and Meringues!

As I mentioned in my previous post we were having our first Christmas lunch last weekend, so we are now one Christmas lunch down and have one more to go!
It was such a special day, we did a lot of chatting, had lots of laughs and of course like most people do on Christmas day ate far too much!  It was lovely!   We even had leftovers for the next day – yay!
So we have one more busy weekend and then November is over, we have had such a busy November that I am really looking forward to December where it feels like it will be a little quieter and we will be able to have days at home to chose the things that we want to do.
I am hoping to finish a few mosaic projects, work on my beaded lamp and my sewing skills!
I love crafting but one of my other loves is cooking and baking.  I have always wanted to try and make Eggs Benedict, I found what looked like the easiest recipe on the Food24 website and made it last weekend, see pic below.  It was delicious and very satisfying making it myself but it is a lot of work and a lot of dishes and even though I enjoyed making it and I am glad that I tried it I don’t think that I will make it again!

One of the advantages of making my own Eggs Benedict was that I had four eggs whites to make meringues with – I love meringues!  It was my second attempt and they came out deliciously perfect.
Till next time!

Finally!

I finally manage to get my blog started and then life happens and I don’t have a chance to even look at it for what feels like forever.
This has been such a busy time, I have been busy planning our year end function at work which we had on Saturday night.  Planning this event consumed a lot of my time so now it’s time to start with all of my Christmas goodies J
We are having our first Christmas lunch on Saturday with family that are not going to be here for Christmas, I am really excited – this is my first official Christmas event that I will be hosting – yay!
I have found red fabric for our table cloth with this beautiful Christmas chiffon type material to use as a runner, so pretty.
This will also be my trial run for the 25th December which will also be hosted at our home, I am super excited for all the festivities.
I love this time of the year, I know that it is busy and the shops are crazy with shoppers coming out of everywhere but it is such a beautiful time of the year a time of family, reflecting, faith and loads of fun and of course loads of good food.
Till next time.

A little about myself

After finding all of these beautiful and inspiring blogs I have finally decided to take the leap and join the blogging world!
A little about myself: I love sunflowers, lilies, daisies, the sound of birds outside our window in the morning, the smell of milk when it comes out the microwave after being heated up, crafting, the exciting feeling when I finish a project (especially when you have been working on it for a long time!), cooking, eating, the colors of the sky when the sun is setting and I could probably carry on for hours adding to this list…
My latest craft project was making a coaster for Grant to use at the office.

And finishing off my chilli to use in the kitchen – these are really handy to use for pot’s!  Can’t imagine my kitchen without one… (Pic to follow, I haven't taken any yet!)
For now my next projects are going to be focused around Christmas, we are having 10 guest over on Christmas day and I’m wanting to make some table decorations so I need to go fabric shopping and try my hand at sewing which I am REALLY excited about.
I am hoping to be a little more organized next year so that I can make everyone a homemade gift to go with their pressie, we’ll have to see!
That’s it for now!
